Finding a way to cope with them can be even more difficult as there are a huge number of options with very few satisfying results. Some may feel that a migraine is just a really bad headache. Is this true? Actually, headaches and migraines are totally different, with migraines being a neurological disorder. There are a variety of headaches and migraine types, though. Here is a brief list of just a few common ones:

  • Classic migraine: Similar symptoms to a common migraine (listed below) but includes aura – a particular sensation that occurs before the migraine hits.
  • Common migraine: Throbbing or pounding head pain, sensitivity to light and sound, and nausea and vomiting are the typical symptoms.
  • Tension headache: A throbbing, vise-like feeling in the head along with tightness in the back of the neck.
  • Cluster headache: Made worse by exertion and consuming alcohol, includes a runny nose, watery eyes, sweating, and extreme head pain.

What can Be Done for Headaches?

While head pain remain a mystery, one possible reason for them that is agreed upon by medical professionals is the improper position of the head in relation to the upper neck. This means that head pain are neurovascular in nature. If either of the top bones of the neck, the C1 or C2 vertebra, is misaligned, proper blood flow to the brain is affected. The central nervous system is negatively affected leading to migraines and headaches.

By visiting us here at Crowder Specific Chiropractic, one get his spine back in proper alignment. We do this using a gentle technique that helps the bones to realign more naturally than forcing or popping the neck. This method has been proven in case studies to give relief to sufferers in as little as one or two visits.
